27 July 1979: Well.

[Warded Private]

Next year on your birthday you are having a party with lots of people and you will therefore, not be tempted to do things that are embarrassing in any way shape or form.

One hopes.

Assuming I live to my next birthday.

I suppose if I don't, it won't be the end of the world. It's quite a nice birthday to go out with. Pepper is quite as nice a lover as I thought he'd be. And I like someone who knows what they are doing and takes it seriously.

And it's nice to not always be alone.

But Merlin's beard, Kate, you've got to be better at this in the future. I can't even look at that conversation without being horrified. And no blushing at him when you go to work tomorrow. You have no reason to blush except for the ridiculously awkward way you said, oh please can we shag?

And that was the first night I've been able to fall asleep without Dreamless Sleep Potion since the murders... Maybe I do actually need a boyfriend. Not Pepper, obviously - he's not the boyfriend type I don't think. But someone.

Additionally? Stop being so damn fatalistic. It's just not attractive.

[Warded to Pepper]
Thank you for a very nice evening.

[Warded to Elle]
I need guidance? Advice? Tutoring?

Apparently I fail at asking men for sex out.

I really don't care for heat.

The heat's not too bad, as long as people have environmental charms up and all of that.

By the way, happy birthday late...I feel like a jerk forgetting, but I've got an exam coming up next week on some lovely advanced magic that is really more complicated than anything needs to be. I think I owe you drinks and/or a night of listening to the Billywhigs, pre-Skank era, yes?

Yes, so long as one does not step outside!

[Hestia]
Oh, thank you! And no worries, I very nearly forgot myself. Last week was so... well, it wasn't very cheerful.

Night of listening to the Billywhigs, with drinks! When are you free? It can wait until after your exam if you like.

And that's what cooling charms are for!

[Kate]
No, it wasn't. I think my own birthday was lost in the mess somewhere...between that horror and work and studying...oy.

That would probably be wise...it's next week, on the eighth, so maybe that Saturday or Sunday?

Maybe we should make it a double celebration then? We could have cake, butterbeers and the Billywhigs?

Saturday or Sunday is brilliant. I often work some on Saturday, but usually I try to leave early, so either would work.

Double celebrations, cake, butterbeer, Billywhigs...sounds like the perfect storm for a brilliant evening.

I've got lunch plans on the Saturday with some girls from work, but it's lunch, so I'll be free by evening, if that sound good? That way, we can do whatever as late as we want without having to worry about getting up for work in the morning.

Evening Saturday! I like it. I shall see you then. My place?
